Dear Friend of Barton Springs,
Thank you for taking this self-guided tour of the Soul of Our City, Barton Springs. We need your help to ensure that generations to come can enjoy clean flowing water at Barton Springs.
The water in Barton Springs emerges from the Edwards Aquifer. Rainfall collects in the Contributing Zone and plunges into the aquifer in the Recharge Zone, traveling underground with minimal filtration of pollutants before coming out at Barton Springs. Urban development in the Recharge and Contributing Zone creates pollution that runs into the aquifer and Springs.
