Brussels has been able to protect within it the influence of one of the most surprising artistic movements of the 20th century : surrealism. This movement was spread by symbolic figures such as René Magritte, Paul Nougé, Louis Scutenaire, Irène Hamoir, E.L.T. Mesens and Marcel Mariën. Although sometimes hidden, the traces of this period, which revolutionised the artistic world, are very carefully preserved all over the Region. We’re inviting you to stride along the cobblestones of Brussels in the footsteps of the surrealist group in search of dreams and imagination!
